Emmerton House

Built in 1811, this historic house in the heart of downtown Salem helps women in need of a safe, comfortable place to live independently for a five-year period. Residents rent single-occupancy rooms in an 1811 historic house for a reduced weekly rent. Each resident has their own private room.

2 TV lounges
Onsite mail
Onsite basement storage
On-site laundry machines (quarters)
Security cameras in common areas, front and back doors

Since 1876, the Woman's Friend Society has been a positive and pioneering presence in Salem, Massachusetts. Today, we continue our work by providing affordable housing to women at Emmerton House, and through the outreach work of our dedicated committees.
